I'M STUCK IN THIS FUCKING RUT
WAITING ON A SECOND HAND PICK ME UP

he had no intension of getting up this early. although he loved the sun, he was never one to rise with it. reese loved to sleep. he loved being sprawled out under the covers with his head on his pillow. he loved drifting off into dream land and he loved the safe feeling he got when he closed his eyes and first started to drift off. it was always the same feeling. every time. nothing changed when he was in his bed, unless of course he had someone with him. so to clarify, let's just say that nothing changed while he was in his bed alone. it was the only place her he was completely and totally relaxed. it wasn't like he was an uptight person, but it was more that he just never let his guard down. sleep was very important to him. he needed at least twelve hours so he could function. but tonight, he had only gotten about four.[/blockquote]he took a breath in.
the room was dark due to the heavy curtains that blocked the window. by this time of day it was always sunny. it was calm. peaceful. he hated to get up. he opened his eyes before sitting up straight, his feet hitting the floor. the cold marble sent a chill up his spine and he gave a little shiver before he began to dress. all night, he had tried to go to sleep, but there was something that kept him up. something he couldn't get out of his mind and it was killing him. it kept him from closing his eyes for more than an hour and when he finally did, it haunted his dreams.it was adalia zambini.
he had never before thought of a girl to the point where it kept him from sleeping, but this particular girl was driving him mad. every girl in the school wanted him. they wanted to be with him. but not her. she ignored everything he said and she challenged him like no one else did. she made him think and he always had to stay on his toes when he was around her. it was unbelievable.. the things she came up with. they were set to be married and here he was, in all his glory, and she didn't even want to be in the same room with him. was he losing his charm?impossible.
he could spend his time worrying about adalia. they were to be married and that was that. they didn't have to like each other for the marriage to occur. they didn't have to be happy about it. right? wrong. that wasn't what reese wanted. he wanted to be in love with the woman he married and he wanted to have kids for the pure joy of it. he didn't want this fake shit. he needed to figure something out. he couldn't go through with this. at the thought, reese threw on his leather jacket and headed outside to the common room. sure enough, it was empty. by now, all the others were most likely in hogsmeade. hogsmeade wasn't necessarily reese's favorite place, so he usually just slept in until four when everyone returned. only today, he had failed miserably at sleep and woke up at ten in the morning, after going to bed at six a.m. there was nothing for him to do but to go to the little village.how wonderful.
the weather outside was frightful to say the least. the weather was as bad as it's ever been in the winter. hale was coming down hard on the pathway as reese carefully walked so he wouldn't slip. the air was crisp and cool and it felt as if it was going to freeze off the tip of his nose. he hated it. usually, he loved cold weather, but all he wanted now was to get into the damn tavern and make everything warm again. he was freezing his ass of. by the time he had reached the hog's head, the place was almost jam packed of people trying to get warm like him. he had to stand for nearly forty minutes before he could grab a chair and order a hot coffee. he needed his fix badly. he was so tired.if only he could have slept longer.
when he finally got his coffee, he took a long drink and closed his eyes, enjoying the warmth of the liquid as it filled his body up. as he drank, his eyes wandered the room, looking for someone he knew. in the small tavern there were several people he knew, others he knew of… and some he wouldn't care to know. none of them were worth talking to. so instead, he looked down at the napkin in front of him and pulled a ball-point pen from his pocket. in a few second flat he had begun to draw a fairly decent portrait of the bartender. after shading in several parts and putting the finishing touches on it, he put the pen back in his pocket and finished off the rest of his coffee, then waited for something interesting to happen.this was going to be a fun day.
